Laval, Quebec – The Carleton Ravens preseason is underway after going 2-1 at the Tournoi Rouge et Or in Laval, Quebec over the weekend. The Ravens started on strong on Thursday night beating the UQAM Citadins 85-42.
The Ravens would lead by 19 at the end of the first quarter, jumping out to an early 29-10 lead before outscoring the Citadins 26-9 in the second. Lloyd Pandi (Ottawa, Ont.) would lead the way for the Ravens with 16, while a balanced offence would see five score in double digits.
In their second game of the weekend the Ravens would face the host Laval Rouge et Or. In a back-and-forth matchup the Ravens would trail by two at the half before pulling away in the third quarter. The Ravens would finish off the Rouge et Or in the fourth quarter outscoring them by 15 on route to a 72-53 victory. Alain Louis (Chateguay, Que.) led the way in game two scoring 20 while adding 8 assists.
In the Ravens final game of the weekend they would face a game Regina Cougars team. The Cougars would lead the Ravens by eight at the end of the first quarter, outscoring Carleton 30-22 in the opening frame. Before the end of the first half, the Ravens would trail by as many as 17 before starting to claw their way back into the matchup. Entering the fourth quarter down by 14, the Ravens had 13 second-half points from Lloyd Pandi but it wouldn’t be enough. The Ravens would continue to push closing the gap to 2 with under thirty seconds left in play but time ticked too quick, and the Ravens fell 82-80.
