Ravens Announce 2026 Male Rookie of the Year Nominees
These nominees represent Carleton student-athletes who demonstrated the highest level of athletic ability in their first year of eligibility.
OTTAWA (Mar. 20, 2026) - Ahead of the 2026 Varsity Banquet on March 26, Carleton Athletics is announcing the nominees for the Male Rookie of the Year award.
This award is presented annually to the student-athlete displaying the highest level of athletic ability during their first year of eligibility in Carleton's inter-university program.
2026 Male Rookie of the Year Nominees
John Aldiban – Soccer
John played in all three playoff games and appeared in 11 of 12 regular-season games. This skilled striker ended the season with four goals and one assist.
Arthur Bedard – Football
Arthur, a fullback on the Ravens football team, was named to the OUA All-Rookie Team. He played in three games, registering one special teams tackle and five carries for eight yards.
Tyler Brown – Basketball
Tyler Brown won a USPORTS Championship Gold Medal and OUA Silver Medal with the Ravens basketball team this season. He played in all 22 regular-season games, playing over 300 minutes. Tyler averaged 9.0 points per game in the U SPORTS Final 8 Tournament.
David Fournier – Hockey
David played 28 games in his rookie season, scoring six goals with 10 assists. This gifted forward ranked 14th in OUA rookie scoring.
