Meet Your Ravens Male Athlete of the Year Nominees
Carleton Athletics is pleased to announce the deserving nominees for the 2026 Male Athlete of the Year award.
OTTAWA (Mar. 25, 2026) – Carleton Athletics is pleased to announce the deserving nominees for the 2026 Male Athlete of the Year award. The award winner will be announced at tomorrow's Varsity Banquet.
This award winner is chosen from all student-athletes who have represented Carleton University in inter-university competitions. The major criterion is the demonstration of outstanding athletic ability during the current year in Carleton's interuniversity program. In addition, contributions towards the athletic program at Carleton are considered for this award.
2026 Male Athlete of the Year Nominees
Graeme Abbott – Nordic Ski
Graeme was an OUA First Team All-Star, winning the OUA Championship with the men's Nordic team. At the OUA championships, Abbott earned a relay silver medal, a 9km freestyle silver medal, and a 15km classic gold medal. At the CCUNC national championships, Abbott and teammate Noah Vanderzon captured bronze in the team sprint. Graeme also finished 10th in the U20 15km mass start.
Aubrey Dorey-Havens – Basketball
Aubrey is a U SPORTS Championship MVP and OUA First Team All-Star. He helped the Ravens to capture U SPORTS championship gold and holds the new U SPORTS championship record for the most three-point field goals in any game at the Final 8. He won an OUA silver medal and has twice tied the program record of nine three-point field goals in a game.
Nick McCarry – Hockey
Nick, assistant team captain for men's hockey and varsity council representative, is an OUA Second Team All-Star. This forward ranked tenth in OUA Scoring, third in goals scored and led OUA in power play goals scored. He is one of only four players to average over a point per game in his career while reaching the 100-game mark.
Tristan Ready – Football
Tristan is an OUA First Team All-Star and team MVP. He set a new program record with 868 receiving yards, ranking 2nd in OUA receiving yards. Tristan led the OUA with six touchdowns. After finishing his season with the Ravens, Tristan signed a professional contract with the Toronto Argonauts.
