Ravens Gain Valuable Experience at National Championships
A rain-soaked, two-day final round proved challenging for the Ravens at the 2026 National Championships
Mother Nature proved to be the ultimate teacher at the 2026 national championship tournament as the Carleton Ravens golf teams gained valuable experience over the two-day final round. Faced with a rain-soaked two days, the event was cut to 54 holes while the Ravens women's team was hot in contention for the podium.
Despite having to wait an extra day for their third round, the Ravens held firm with Claire Stoney and Sanvi Swarup continuing to lead the charge as the women held on for a sixth-place ranking. Stoney's day was by no means her best of the tournament, getting off to a slow start, despite a birdie on four, before stumbling to a finish. Swarup's lone birdie on the final day came on 11, but a +7 finish on the final six strokes will be motivation in the off-season. Ashley Perron was a bright spot for the Ravens on day three. Saving her best round of the tournament for last, Perron improved by six strokes on her lowest round.
Perron's strong performance, combined with the Ravens hot start to the tournament, was enough to see them hold onto sixth in the team standings, finishing two back of Bishop's and three up on Guelph. For their first appearance at nationals, finishing just outside the top five is a strong start for a Ravens team on the rise.
Men Finish T-13
After missing the cut at the 2025 championships, the Ravens made the most of the shortened tournament to show their growth as a U SPORTS program, tying for thirteenth place in Levis. Ty Rouse was once again the Ravens leader at nationals. After finishing 15 strokes back in 2025, Rouse was 13 back at +2 in a seven-way tie for 22nd. With a five under 67 on the final day, Ty made massive jumps up the leaderboard, climbing 39 positions. If not for a bogey on 13, Ty was on fire with six birdies, including a -3 score on the challenging final five holes.
Ty's brother Dylan Rouse was hot on his heels, finishing just a stroke behind at +3. The rain delayed the third round didn't start well for Dylan as he shot five bogeys in the opening seven holes, despite an early birdie on four. Back-to-back birdies on 8 and 9 helped to balance his round before shooting a +1 back nine with his only bogey coming on 12. Six straight pars wrapped up the round for Dylan.
Benjamin Webb climbed six spots on the final day, his 76 included a strong +1 (37) out.
All told, the Ravens men's team made massive strides in the tournament after getting off to a challenging start on Tuesday, which saw them a combined +20 in the team competition. Going only +11 over the final two days of the tournament, the Ravens were able to finish higher than 2026, taking advantage of the 54-hole format with no cut.
