The Carleton University Men's Basketball team is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Student Video Coordinator Intern to support our coaching staff through video analysis and game preparation.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a student interested in basketball coaching, performance analysis, sports technology, or high-performance sport. You'll gain valuable experience working alongside one of Canada's most successful university basketball programs while developing practical skills in video analysis and basketball operations.
Responsibilities
- Film home games and selected practices.
- Upload, organize, and manage practice and game footage.
- Edit and prepare video for player development, scouting, and team meetings.
- Assist coaches with opponent scouting and game preparation.
- Create player and team highlight clips as requested.
- Tag and code games using basketball video analysis software.
- Maintain an organized digital video library.
- Assist with other basketball operations duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong passion for basketball and a desire to learn.
- Experience using basketball video platforms such as Hudl Sportscode, Hudl, or Synergy Sports (experience with similar software is also welcome).
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating with coaches and staff.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the basketball season.
- Current enrollment as a Carleton University student is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with basketball coaching, team management, or video analysis.
- Knowledge of basketball terminology, offensive and defensive concepts, and game strategy.
- Experience with video editing software is considered an asset.
