This was not the start to the weekend the Ravens were looking for, with a 5-3 loss to the RMC Paladins on Friday.
On Friday, the Ravens found themselves behind early. Just seconds after Braeden Virtue scored a shorthanded goal to open the scoring, the Paladins' power play connected twice to lead 2-1 after 20 minutes.
The two teams would trade goals in the second, with Robbie Rutledge and David Fournier scoring for the Ravens. After 40 minutes, Carleton continued to trail 4-3. As the Ravens opened up their system a bit, in hopes of tying the game, Connor Prestwich scored to make the game 5-3 in favour of the Paladins. Carleton would pull their goalie late, but couldn't beat Ethan Morrow in the Paladins' goal.
"Special teams weren't great for us," said Mark Cavallin, of the team's loss Friday at RMC. "We gave up two PK goals in the first, and that put us behind. Then we had lots of opportunities for our power play, including a 5-on-3, and we didn't get enough out of that."
