The Carleton Ravens late rally ran out of time on Friday night as the men's hockey team came out on the wrong side of a 4-3 loss to the Concordia Stingers. The loss, which would eliminate the Ravens from the playoffs while inactive on Saturday, was the Ravens' fourth in a row.
The Stingers did the majority of their damage in the first period, scoring three times in six minutes. Outshooting the Ravens 14-3 in the first, the Stingers controlled the momentum through 20 minutes.
The Ravens came to life second, getting a goal from Robbie Rutledge to make it 3-1. In the third, with their season hanging in the balance, the Ravens gave everything they could to the top-ranked Stingers. After Huge Primeau made it 4-1, Felix Bedard would make it 4-2 before Tomasz Szerba scored his first U SPORTS goal with just under two minutes to play, making it a one-goal game.
With the Ravens unable to even things up, and a Nipissing win Saturday, the Ravens are now officially eliminated from the 2026 playoffs. Carleton has two games remaining, including their 2026 Senior Night on Wednesday, when they welcome McGill.
