The Carleton women's basketball team was a big winner on Sunday, marking their senior day with an 80-50 win over the visiting Badgers. The win opened a wonderful afternoon of basketball at the Nest, which unfortunately ended on a sour note as the men's team fell 84-79 in double overtime.
The women's team opened the afternoon riding a wave of momentum from Friday's Cap Hoops win and quickly led 18-14 after 10 minutes. With 9 points from Catherine Oliver in the second quarter, the Ravens exploded out to a 39-27 halftime lead. For Oliver, the second-quarter explosion in just her second game of the year led to her tying her career-high with 11 points.
The Ravens never let up in the third, holding Brock to 25% shooting while outscoring the Badgers 23-19. Coach Dani Sinclair handed the fourth quarter over to mostly first-year players, as Tyanne Matosas-Adderley had 10 points and Hanna Beattie had 4 as the Ravens locked down the Badgers to move to 15-5.
Following the contest, the Ravens celebrated their seniors with Gabrielle Francis of the women's team being recognized.
