The Carleton Ravens dropped a pair of games over the weekend, losing to Windsor and Western to wrap up the first half of the 2025-26 season.
After Friday's loss, the Ravens' tough road weekend continued on Saturday against a skilled Western Mustangs team. After Carleton scored first, the Mustangs exploded with four straight three-pointers to jump out to a 12-2 lead. Carleton would stabilize the ship and rally back, cutting the lead to 22-21 to end the first.
Kyana-Jade Poulin hit a pair of threes back-to-back to open the second quarter as Carleton looked to be building momentum. As Poulin heated up, so too did Western's Sydney Cowan, who kept the Mustangs within reach. When the dust settled at the end of a wildly entertaining first half, the Mustangs led 39-38.
Carleton would take the lead entering the fourth quarter, with Poulin scoring six points in an otherwise low-scoring third quarter. With both teams shooting under 35%, and Carleton under 25%, the defences took over the contest heading into the fourth quarter.
Paris Alexander and Renee Armstrong heated up for the Mustangs in the fourth quarter, combining for 21 points as the Mustangs used sharp shooting to race into the lead. The Ravens were 0 for 5 from behind the arc as they tried to keep pace with the Mustangs and finished the night 4 for 20 from the land beyond.
With back-to-back losses, the Ravens finished the first half of the 2025-26 season with a 7-3 record, good for second in the OUA East.
