The Carleton Ravens women's basketball team split the start of their 2026 season, bouncing back from a loss to Queen's Friday with a win over Ontario Tech.
Carleton started slow on Saturday night before finding a rhythm. The Ravens trailed Ontario Tech by as much as six in the opening quarter before taking the lead. Carleton led by 1 at the end of the first before extending the lead to 8 at the half.
Carleton started to find a defensive rhythm, even if they struggled offensively - shooting under thirty percent - in the first half. Kyana-Jade Poulin and Jacqueline Urban led the way with a combined 19 points in the first half.
The second half continued to be a low-scoring affair as the Ravens outscored the Ridgebacks 22-13 in the second half. Jacqueline Urban and Nathalie Francis each had four points in the third quarter as the Ravens held Ontario Tech to 14.3% shooting.
The Ravens' defence continued to smother Tech in the fourth, holding them again to 2-14 from the field as Urban scored five of the Ravens' 10 points in the quarter to close out the evening.
